Inward Ventures Therapy
Casey Fieldman, LCSW
Hello and welcome! My name is Casey, and I am a licensed clinical social worker based in New York City. Most recently, I have been working at an NYU Langone family health center in Brooklyn, supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, with a particular focus on co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns.
I have come to understand that meaningful change happens through a trusting relationship. Research supports this, consistently finding that the connection between therapist and client is the strongest predictor of positive outcomes in therapy. While I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, I see the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of the work and a catalyst for insight and growth.
Because every person is different, therapy looks different for everyone. My approach is rooted in both humanistic and psychodynamic therapy, balancing a belief in each person's innate capacity for conscious growth with an exploration of how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape the present. I also draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), cognitive behavioral, somatic, dialectical behavioral, and mindfulness-based therapies. All of my work is trauma-informed.
Before becoming a therapist, I developed programming and partnerships for a company centered on holistic wellness and spiritual inquiry. Through that work, I was exposed to alternative modalities such as herbalism, psychedelics, astrology, tarot, and Eastern philosophies. These experiences have deepened my understanding of healing and complement the tools offered by contemporary psychology.
